rocker AVRIL LAVIGNE's Hollywood
career is going from strength to
strength - she is soon to appear in
THE FLOCK alongside her childhood
hero RICHARD GERE. Lavigne has
always dreamed of a future in acting
despite her chart success. And after
lending her voice to animated caper
OVER THE HEDGE, she is slowly but
surely climbing the ladder to screen
stardom - even though she only has
one scene in The Flock. She tells
MTV, "I have one scene in it. It's
with CLAIRE DANES and Richard Gere,
and Richard Gere was, like, really
cool. "In between takes he was like
totally giving me pointers. "It was
so crazy; I've known of him since I
was so little. My parents thought
that was so cool."

rocker AVRIL LAVIGNE is swapping her
tough style for a more ladylike look
- and she insists growing up was the
catalyst that changed her image. The
COMPLICATED star is keen to retain
the rock 'n' roll edginess she was
famous for in her teens, but she has
since injected some glitz into her
wardrobe. She says, "I think I just
went from 17 to 21. I'm a woman now.
"When I first broke on the scene, I
was a little kid straight out of
high school and into skate-boarding
and all that. "Now I'm older. I'll
keep wearing the rock look but a
little more feminine, a little more
of that rock glam thing going on."

Hollywood Career |
Canadian
singer Avril Lavigne has ambitions
to break into acting after landing a
role in new animated movie Over The
Hedge.
She appears alongside Bruce Willis
and Rosanna Arquette on the project,
and did not even had to audition for
the part.
Talking to WENN she said: "I love
performing and actually when I was
quite young I was acting in the
theatre as much as I was singing.
Hopefully, I'll land a really cool
part or a bigger part in a movie."

Pretty, Not Punk |
ROCKER
Avril Lavigne has binned the punk
and grunge gear and replaced it with
a natty black cocktail dress.
She wowed fans with her new look as
she strolled up the red carpet at a
film premiere in Los Angeles.
The 21-year-old Canadian provides
the voice of Heather the possum in
animated film Over The Hedge.
Even her trademark Converse baseball
boots were swapped for a pair of
high heels.
But her black eye make-up appears to
have survived the makeover.
