People for the Ethical Treatment of
Animals recognized Good Charlotte's
Benji and Joel Madden, Fall Out
Boy's Andy Hurley, Outkast's Andre
3000, Avril Lavigne and more to show
that vegetarians are sexy.
The animal-rights organization
unveiled the nominees for its sixth
annual World's Sexiest Vegetarian
contest this week, with Anne
Hathaway, Pamela Anderson, Joss
Stone, Joaquin Phoenix, Tobey
Maguire, Common and members of the
Yeah Yeah Yeahs, AFI and New Found
Glory also up for the honor. Online
voting at www.GoVeg.com will remain
open through May 21, and the king
and queen of the meat-free prom will
receive a plaque commemorating the
honor.
PETA started its Sexist Vegetarian
contest in 2001 to praise those in
the public eye that have adopted the
meat-free lifestyle, honoring
"American Idol" winner Carrie
Underwood, Natalie Portman and
Coldplay's Chris Martin in the past.
Nominees are not all members of PETA,
though the organization is certainly
no stranger to Hollywood (see "PETA

It looks
like "punk chick" Avril Lavigne's
hellraiser days are over. We're told
she's planning a summer wedding with
Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley.
A more mature blonde-haired and
groomed Lavigne appeared at the Kids
Choice Awards last week looking
nothing like she did during her
'Complicated' years. And speaking of
kids, Avril wants some of her own,
and stat.
Lavigne -- who got engaged to her
fellow Canadian last summer -- has
told her friends to brace themselves
for a traditional white wedding at
an undisclosed church in Beverly
Hills. But the reception will be a
different story.
The "lovebirds" plan to have circus
performers, comedians and "known"
rock bands playing during the
celebration. Afterwards, they'll
jet-to Paris, then a villa in the
South of France.
At the moment Avril, 21, and Deryck,
26, are renovating the house they
bought together in Santa Monica.
She's already turning one of the
bedroom's into a nursery. And with
millions in the bank from her best
selling albums, 'Let Go and Under My
Skin,' she can certainly afford the
remodel.
